Yes, I will admit I'm lazy. Sometimes updating LJ feels like a major chore to me. I have ideas, information to share, stores, and experiences to relate but the chore of sitting down and putting my thoughts into the conversion process that is typing and writing makes me dramatically lose interest in updating. With that being said, bear with me and just understand as a person I do not have the personal dedication and drive to talk about ever stupid little thing I did each day.
Since I'm on the topic I figured I would take a moment to mention this.. WTF is up with you people that update like 5+ times a day?! Are your lives really that slow and boring? Even talking 13 credits, and working 30 hours a week I have time to kill, but jeez, get a hobby other than LJ. Now please dont think this sounds wishy-washy, but at the same time I care about the above mentioned people and their on my friends list for that exact reason. I however find it very taxing to try and keep up with everyone when the entries from 3 or 4 people are dominating my friends page. Perhaps we are two in the same, but at different ends of the spectrum? :D
As you have waded through all that I suppose I shall reward you loyal readers with a real update. As with my last update this one is also being typed on a laptop while Felix drives. The real difference however is that this is /my/ laptop (WOOT) His is a bit on the old/cheap side and lacks wireless and as such it is a bit of a pita to get data from it onto the network, so the update from my birthday at pups place is sitting in limbo on it. I'll have to make a point of getting it posted this week. I promise :>. As for recent events I've been a bit busy. As of the end of June I acquired a 34" wide screen Sony HDTV, Denon 1705 7.1 receiver, Polk PSW 1200 dual 12" subwoofer, and a MyFi (to replace the one that got stolen) from my boss for a very, very reasonable price. Since me financed me on it he has been very generous with hours lately and has been very cool. Hence why I've been working so much lately, I want him paid off; I hate owing people money.
Other big things....
Stones Rising! Due to work and money reasons I had to trim it down to Thursday through Sunday. I got in at 3ish AM Thursday morning/Wednesday night. Everyone was long since asleep and my tent spot stolen I simply threw out my tent, inflated my bed and crashed, leaving the details for the morning. 6 blissful hours later I was awoken to the sound of furriers. Dragging my lifeless corpse from my sanctuary that was 16 square feet of inflated bliss I staggered out and greeted old friends and some new. Phillip and Jamie (friends of Eric) were able to make it up and were camping at our site. Both were very nice, and Phil is also a Ham Radio operator and we geeked for a while.
Socialization aside stones was very good and powerful for me. It's really hard to put into words obviously, but this was a very good stones as far as I'm concerned.
The 4 days between Stones and our beach trip I managed to incubate some nasty little bug I no doubt picked up at the farm from drinking communal water. As of right now I've been to the hospital once, lost my voice 4 times, am taking enough drugs to kill a horse, and have felt worse than I ever have with a cold, flu, or otherwise. Weather the person knew they were sick or not I will never know, but in the future I'm going to stick to my own personal drinking vessel; there’s always one prick that ruins it for everyone, weather it being the person that comes to the cub house at a con knowing their sick, to the people that don’t call out of work when there sick and give it to everyone else so they can avoid missing any work. Thanks!
Aside from nearly praying for death the beach was very fun and I really had a great time down there. Hopefully we can make it down again next year; even with being sick it was a very nice end to summer and I feel refreshed and ready to start school in a week. (aside for the sick part)
Ahh, and for school. The fed was quite good to me in regards to grants the year. Even after I pay for classes, books, stuff, porn, etc I will still have a nice wad of cash left. And the same goes double for the spring semester because the award was for fall and spring. WOOT! So, starting the 21st I'll be starting classes again for thee first time since I left Pittsburgh. It feels good to get back at it, and while I know I would be farther ahead if I had stayed in PGH, I am far happier here and really do enjoy my life now.
On that note I suppose I'll wrap this up. I'm sure there’s more to be said but it escapes me through the cloud of pain killers and prescription drugs. Peace yo.
