Stop reading now. This is another entery about my woodworking and as previous as shown no one will read it.
Either way, I'm excedingly excited today. Last night Felix and I did a little cleaning of the hallway and shop area. In the process I ended up moving my jointer to a new spot where my "supplies" used to live and now have a lot more room over by my table saw.
I was looking through my plans after it was all moved since I wanted ideas for a fold down finishing station that could stoe over the jointer.
In my search I cam across plans for a very sturdy, traditional bench that just so happens to pivot on steel rod, allowing it to be solid and sturdy but fold against the wall.
I'm going to build it I think. It is perfect for my purposes, and having a fold down bench will remove the temptation to just pile crap on it. Additionaly I can add a lumber rack over it or some more storage for tools and so forth.
In the end my old store disply table that has been forced to be a bench well get moved to the back porch and have a few sheets of 3/4 plywood laminated to the top and my machinest vice will get installed there. It will give me a good plave to do metal work and car stuff without dragging it into my wood shop.
Also getting red of the fixed table will free up a bunch of room behind my saw, and with the jointer moved I can pretty comfortable use my table saw, even with long or wide wood. WOOT!
So.. now I'm just waiting on the lumper supplier to get back to me on if they can get the douglas fir I need to make this sucka.
I'm going with douglas fir since it is hard and heavy, on par with maple bt at a fraction of the price.
So that is all.. other stuff happened but like the fag I am, I'm obsessed with wood!
