Great googly moogly, an update!
Well much has transpired as of late. Much.
For the last 2 weeks my life has been almost nothing other than the house, the move, an work.
Work has been it's usual life sucking self, more so than usual with having to constantly be fixing screwup's of the new people.
What time I haven't been at work I've been working on getting the house ready, both paperwork wise as well as physically to pass the FHA's requirements.
Last week I drove up Sunday morning right after getting off work that Saturday night. I loaded up my truck with boxes and managed to get there around 9/10am on Sunday.
When I got there Firefox was not there and had gone on back to his place to nap until I got in to town. Being as I had no keys I picked the locks and was in in under 2 minutes. Bc had had my good locks re keyed by some moron who screwed em up so they put walmart cheapos on. I don't think I have ever picked a house lock so fast as these junk locks.
Either way I got in, called fire and dobe to get them headed over. I crashed out on the couch while I waited for em. Oncer they got in I took em both to breakfast before we hit construction junction for some supplies. Sadly CJ failed me on Sunday for the glass blocks I needed for the window in the basement. I did get 4 4 tube florescent fixtures for 2 bux each so it was an ok trip.
After that most of the rest of the week was a total blur. Fire and i worked like slaves in our quest to get the house ready in time to have the appraisor look the place over again. All in all, we scraped pain in every single room, painted the chips on the trim throughout, did a glass block window, painted the middle room orange and red and the back room grey and navy as well as repairing several big holes in the walls an also the soffit. My favorite part of the weekend was standing 25 something feet up on a ladder wrapping high voltage lines in duct tape.
In the end the appraiser was thrilled and passed it quite happily.
Over the course of the weekend Lilpup and Goliath helped out a bit, but the real star of the show was Firefox. I could absolutely not have gotten all of it done in time alone and for his help I'm exceedingly grateful.
With all the physical stuff done I've been working on the house papers. A lot has come together in this last week and I will be closing on /my house/ next Wednesday.
For my trip up I'll be bringing my parts/possible project rabbit. A 79 brown 4 door I scored for 200 bucks at CJBuggs in Fishersville. I will be picking up the dolly monday afternoon and then the car before I head on up to pgh with my car and truck stuffed to the gills with as much as I can fit.
The trip back I'll be borrowing the company's trailer form pup and will return with it and my truck the weekend of WPAFW. We can unload the stuff into my newly roofed garage and also drop my truck off up there. I'll ride back with Felix and from there I'll spend the last week working before my rabbit and I head on up to PGH with the last few little things and the clothes I kept out.
So. in a nutshell it is all coming together. I'm going insane I thinkg, but it is all finally almost done; and I cant fucking wait!
